Shakes or Wobbles problem
1995 Ford Windstar V8 Front Wheel Drive Automatic ? miles

When im driving and im getting ready to come to a stop the car shakes and makes a thump thump thump noise. I was told that it was my rotors by someone who works on cars, but he is not licensed so im a little worried about listening to him. He is a friend of the family. I have had the van for 3 years now. Please help me the shaking has gotten so bad until I dont drive it.

He might be right on the rotors if its warped-have him check it out won't hurt

You can make a simple self-test. When you take your foot off the gas and start to press on the brake, if you get the thump thump and then pull your foot off the brake and the noise and vibration disappear, your rotors are warped. I recommend an independent repair shop that will use a high-quality brake pad. Remember that a life time warranty is no indication of the quality of the product.
