2002 Ford Truck Two Wheel Drive Automatic

i went to an auto parts store and they told me my vehicle needed 10w-30 oil and i found the book when i got back home and it said to use 5w-30 but when my wife took it to the shop to get oil chnges they have been using 10w-30 isw there a difference and does it matter

usually it will sy on the oil filler cap the recommended oil wt. and it wont hurt the motor but will make it work harder which in turn hurts fuel economy. use only manufacturers recommended wt.
