ford f-150 chatters when under light load. doesnt make noise when at idle or when under heavy acceration, only under light load ie: when pulling out or under light pedal pressure, (normal, flat driving)

You sure its not pinging due to engine overheating and EGR inoperative.

Try bleeding the system at this time I ask you to stay in your original post

has done it off and on since i bought the truck a few months ago, but got worse since overheating the past few days

Bring it in and have it block and pressure tested this will tell you what's really going on with it.
