Electrical problem
1996 Ford Truck V8 Automatic

My boss diconnected the positive battery cable from the battery to see if the alternator was charging but after you jump start it and you have your foot on the gas the voltage shoots up to 18. Anyway, the battery is dead every morning and the battery is brand new, do you think it is a alternator problem or something else?

you will have to put a test light between the cable and battery post. pull fuses one at a time to see if the light will go out. If it does then that is the circuit to check. It could also be your ABS motor stuck on after you shut the engine off and park it.
