1968 Ford Truck oil pump and oil pressure

I rebuilt my Ford truck 360 motor about 2 years ago. About 4 months ago it started ticking really bad and I found out I had a bad lifter. I replaced the lifter and it was good for about a month, then the ticking started again. I would like to know if the oil pump could be going out and if so, how do I check it? Would an oil pressure gauge tell me if I have an oil pump problem?

You need a mechanic al guage to get a true reading of oil pressure. You oulcd have a more than one lifter that is creating the problem. If your pressure is at 10 p.S.I. At idle you are ok. Hot or cold. But if it drops below that then there is somethin wrong. Alot of problems like these are caused by poor oil filters or cheap ones. Also if you used factoryoil seals from that erra they had a habit of breaking off and cloggig up the il pump or breaking the shaft. But you still have pressure so that's not the case. Get the mechanical reading first and go from there.
