2002 Ford Thunderbird will not start

new battery in my 2002 thunderbird turn the key the gauges go whacky and there is clicking but will not turn over tried jumping but no success as soon as i disconnect the charger it is like there is no battery at all any help

you need to get a cheltons so you now where all the grounds are in the engin if its not grounded right it will act like there is now battery. an if u are putting both jumper cables on the battery an not putting the nagative on the fram of the car there still is now ground u can over charge the battery that way.

Do a voltage drop test on both positive and negative cables-
