1997 Ford Thunderbird main electrical fan.

i bought the car from a guy who hit a deer. with minimum damage radiator mount is bent a little, nothing major. every time i go to start the car i have to wait for the main electrical fan to run before i can start it. only the fan runs and most of the ttime it"s quite. when the engine is cold the fan ran up to 5 minutes, "and thats only 65 degrees out side no idea how long it may run in the winter." when it run for that long it stsarts to wine. when the car it warmed up at normal temp. the fan runs for maybe 30 seconds. i need to know how to stop this before winter.
