Two part problem. At a start it lags like a geo metro at the start until the engine reaches about 15-20 miles per hour.

2nd part. I already know that the charcoal canister needs to be replace (check engine light), and was wondering if this would contribute to the above problem? The mechanic I trust and use indicated that it would baciscally result in my fuel injectors operating on full 24-7 so to speak.

Lastly, I know where the canister is and was wondering if it's a difficult repair. It looks rather staraight forward when I pop the hood and look at it.

I'm a little confused. Has your mechanic indicated the charcoal canister is causing the engine to run odd, and what / how would the injectors run 24 / 7?
