Suspension problem
1996 Ford Thunderbird Two Wheel Drive Automatic 126k miles

My 1996 T-Bird needs struts. Are struts and shock absorbers the same thing? If I have both, I guess I would need to shoot the whole thing.

Just want to be informed once I decide to bring my car in for service.

a strut combines the shocks and the springs together in one unit.

shocks are used if you have like a leaf spring or coil springs suspension.
