1996 Ford Thunderbird shock or strutt

Suspension problem
1996 Ford Thunderbird 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive

my wife owns a 96 tbird coupe with a 6 cyl and she was needing to replace the rear suspension but is being told two diffrent things #1, it has rear shocks and #2, it has strutts not shocks . what will it have if you could let us know pls

Hi there, Looking at the pic of the rear end of your model, you have shockers and not struts, check you car with the pic to confirm. mark (mhpautos)

The Tbirds actually have both , so whomever told you this wasnt exactly wrong .The rear as has been stated has shocks the front however is where the struts are. So technically it does have both but to repair the rear suspension you just need to grab a couple shocks.These are much cheaper than the struts!!
