1996 Ford Thunderbird V8 Wheel Drive Type unknown Automatic 108k miles

I was told I needed to replace the converters by ford. My friend said take it to this meineke, I know them and it will be much cheaper. One year, 2 sets of converters and 1700.00 later I am back at the ford dealer being told the right front cat is out-contaminated. I have no faith in meineke-my poor car hasn't been right since. I am a bit leery of everyone now. Why is this happening? In between these visits the car runs great.I am the original owner and have loved this car, which is why I still own it. What shoud I do?Help please!

Thank You,
cheryl

Head to the junkyard and get originals! Then replace your 02 sensors so you don't keep loosing the converters.
