transmission has problem finding and staying in high gear is it a switch or filter or does it need to be replaced

being a v6 3.8 liter ford .well most surely your trans is bad and needs rebuild.those 3.8 motors and trans have a very bad rap.fix it and sell it or get a stick shift if u dont want that prob again
