1994 Ford Thunderbird shakes when I hit brakes

Every time I am driving and when I hit my brakes it shakes real bad what do you think it could be. Now the next quetion is I have an over drive button on the shifter, but when I push it the light on the dash doesnt appear and it wont kit in could you help me with my problem

Hi there,

This shaking under braking is normally brake rotors, you can get them machined if they still are thick enough, or they will have to be replaced, the overdrive may be a faulty switch, relay or overdrive solinoid, this will have to be check by a mechanic.

See I did replace them about a year or so ago but how can I tell if they are bad or if they are even worn. Now if the rotors have groves in them from the brakes then basically I need to replace both right

Check that the wheel bearings are OK, also best to check the steering as well, just to be safe. But if the rotors were replaced, then I would be getting them machined true again, this can be done on car, one of the tell tail signs of a warped rotor is a slight pulsation in the brake pedal as well.
