1993 Ford Thunderbird Idles fine but run rough upon acceler

My car is running rough and has stalled on acceleration. It also smells like it is running rich. My husband says it is a catalytic convertor but I think it is some type of sensor. The car also has a water leak and does over heat.

Clean out the idle air control valve and also the MAF sensor with an approved cleaner and test the throttle position sensor
