1992 Ford Thunderbird engine ticking

my car has sat for over a year, i changed the oil, thermostat, and i took it for a test drive did a small donut and it stalls.. its auto by the way. i try starting it and it doesnt start so i got it towed home and tried starting it again and it started with a loud ticking noise gets louder as i rev it up and without touching the throttle the rpms jump around.. so this morning i had a mechanic look at it he started it and it ran perfect what is this??

You may have some condensation(water) in the fuel from sitting for that long, drain tank and refill with new gas.
