1986 Ford Thunderbird Runs rough no acceleration

I got a 1986 ford thunderbird with a 5.0 302. i bought this car as a project car it starts up everytime, but it idles rough, and when underload/in gear it shakes bad and runs horrible, when you touch the gas pedal the car shakes and stalls and doesnt accelerate you can here the engine spolling up but it doesnt go anywhere. Ive checked the dist. cap and new spark plugs and wires, checked the cylinder compression, and timing and its all fine. any help would be nice
