1980 Ford Thunderbird V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

After driving the car. I park in garage and can smell gas. theres gas in front of carb, under the acclerater pump. Why?

if you see gas there, the accelerator pump is probably leaking and you are in need of a rebuild....
