I have a 1956 thundebird with a new radiator, fan,hoses, air filter. In slow traffic or bumper to bumper traffic, the temp gauge goes to hot. The overflow on the radiator emits a portion of antifreeze. At normal speeds the temp gauge is normal. What is the problem?

Check and test the thermostat and radiator cap if it continues get it block and pressure tested-
