If I was cruising along in cruise control and the car just shut down and would not start like it was out of gas. Could the fuel pump be to blame or could it be something else? If it is the fuel pupm are there any websites that describe or show the best way to change the pump?

My question is do you hear the fuel pump come On when you turn key to On position If not could be the pump or a wiring problem/fuel pump relay or computer. Or the inertia cut off switch.
