Electrical problem
1994 Ford Tempo 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

this ford tempo was running great for 3 yrs. The starter just went out, I replaced it and now will not start at all. I have no fuel pump power, I checked out fuel shut off switch I show power to 1 side tripped, power to other side, not tripped, checked coil I have power in/out of coil, power into dist, tested ign mod good, but no spark, checked out all of your fourms seen cars with one or the other problems but not both. Could the ccrm be at fault or maybe blown fusable links? Tried to comm with the pcm and cannot read codes. Did the neg draw test, no draw and pcm goes to sleep in 3-4 sec. Partial tune up and new batt, new fuel filter and pump, coil is showing 11.48v at coil wire when key is on and 4.38v when trying to crank, still no spark or fuel. HELP Thnx

Ok. I found the awnser to my own question. First make sure that u connect all the fuseable links to the starter solinoid. When changing it there are 4 main fuseable links, 2 connectors that have to be hooked, its possiable that 1 of the fuseable connectors can fall behind the battery, Second, make sure the fuseable link wire doesnt have a bare spot or its corroded from battery acid and grounding its self out. Fixed both problems and away I went. Hope that helps out.
