1994 Ford Tempo cruise control failure

i just bought the car, cruise control doesn't work, no visual of cruise on the dash elecronic panel when cruise switch engaged. i replaced the speed sensor, that didn't work. any other suggestions, might it be a vaccuum hose, checked the fuse it was not blown. thank you...
