My car always smells like gas when I'm driving, I can't turn on the AC because it pushes it in my car worse. What could be causing this my check engine light comes on as well.....

gas smell is an indication of a leak ,and that would make check engine to come on
best if check didn't come up where is the leak, is to have it smoke tested ,safe easy and quick

stop at a auto repair/garage and have them find leak! probably a rusty gas line under car! or small hole in gas tank!
