1993 Ford Tempo engine rattle noise at idle speed

noise quits when i run engine with belt off

i've heard the crankshaft pulley makes noise. is this the only thing or could it be the air conditioner which increases noise when it is on?

weird, that you mention it, i just noticed a similar noise on my grandaughters tempo. put belt back on and try to pinpoint with a tubing held to your ear like sweeper wand or pvc pipe.i have never actually had 1 go bad on a tempo.(crank pulley/harmonic balancer) thanks
