car sometmes stalls when slowing down to stop at a light or for traffic. it always restarts. this is intermitent also the check engine light on and off intermitent

Check for any vacuum leaks
remove and clean or replace idle air control valve
check for codes

when was last tuneup? weak coil wire can trigger stalls. another typical problem for these cars is IAC valve malfunction. it controls idle speed. check also for any bad vacuum hoses. putting on brakes uses engine vacuum to operate brake booster. the sudden large draw can effect engine speed. getting CE codes read could help also.
