My 1992 Tempo has always been a bit leaky--recently, like last week, I noticed a considerable amount of oil under the front of the car.
I checked the oil and it needed two quarts. Today-- after making an appointment with my mechanic (two days later) I drove it and it started making a clacking sound (my mechanic can't get me in til Monday) and there was oil all over the inside of the hood (not on the filter), but everywhere else up front.
It's dripping oil like crazy. I'm not sure what to make of the clacking sound and hope that my engine isn't ruined.
Anything I can research so I can be better prepared for my mechanic on Monday? Or perhaps prepare my checkbook?
thank you!
