my tempo has an oil leak and I dont know where it is coming from. It looks like it leaks from the front of the engine. Also today when I started my car today and it started making a ratteling noise and it only does it when I am in drive and not moving. As soon as I start to accelerate it stops making that noise

Hi:
First, the noise is most likely coming from a loose heat shield on the cat conv. Take a rubber mallot and tap on the exhaust system to see if that is the problem. Make sure everyting is cool before you start touching things on the exhaust.

As far as the oil leak, chances are it's the valve cover gasket. Go to the parts store, get a can of engine degreaser, go to the car wash and follow the directions on the can to clean the engine. After it's clean, then you will be able to see where the leak is coming from. If this doesn't help, take it to a mechanic and have them put dye into the oil. They will have you drive the car for a few days and then check for leaks with a black light. It will help them find the source of the leak.

Let me know if this helps.

Joe
