1992 Ford Tempo headlight assembly

I can't figure out how to get the headlight assembly out of my son's 92 ford Tempo. Not the bulb, I am replacing the whole lens assembly. There seems to be some type of clip that has eluded all my attempts to dislodge it.

4 bolts(nuts) and it's out? why the change? broke or dingy? if broke sometimes damage effects removal.-
