1992 Ford Tempo car may start once in a while

Engine Mechanical problem
1992 Ford Tempo Front Wheel Drive Automatic 99,419 miles

all of a sudden, car would not start, left it over night, it started up. towed it home, would not start, tried several times that day. following day would not start till couples hours after firt time tried. to my knowledge fule pump replaced a few years back. spark plugs have spark, however person mentioned the spark plug was dry, distributor cap very lightly corrided, easy wipe off.

but when it does start, how long will it stay running? when it dont start, can you hear fuel pump hum from back seat area when you turn key to on?(not start) it should hum for few seconds to prime system. if an aftermarket pump was installed, chance it is failing already is pretty high. you can try squirting gas into intake to get it to start momentarily?
