my 91 tempo sputters or miss at acceleration from a stop like at a traffic light and also does the same thing at normal speed when neither accelerating or decelerating but just maintaining speed any ideas?

is check engine light working? when was last tune up. has fuel pump ever been replaced? has ignition coil/coil wire been replaced?
