Electrical problem
1986 Ford Tempo 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 70000. miles

We replaced the battery this past summer.
I went out to my car to leave work and it came on after i started for home.
Now it will not go off at all.
No problem starting or going.
Could it be the voltage regulator or an alternator issue?
Just also found a belt that looks like it has broke from the alternator could that also be a cause of the like coming on???
Thank you
Mary

Mary:
If the belt for the alt is broken, that is your problem. If the alt isn't turning while the engine is running, it will not charge the battery. Replace the belt and your problem should go away.
