1985 Ford Tempo Engine will not turn off at ignition switch

I had to have my truck worked on to pass smog and ever since then when you turn the ingnition switch the guages trun off but not the engne. I replaced the ignition switch but it didn't make any difference. It does not do this when the truck is cold only after it has been run awhile.
