Ford Taurus SES 2002 100000 miles. I turn the key, it wont crank, no click, nothing. New battery, lights do not dim when attempting to start. I replaced the starter relay, no difference. When I jump directly from the battery to the starter solenoid, the starter works.

Could be the ignition switch or the transmission range switch and starter solenoid

At the starter solenoid find the small terminal S on it white and pink -now have someone hold key to start positiion -do you have power? If not check the TRS input power red and light blue coming from the Ig switch -do you have power-No power bad ignition switch.

I have power to the red wire with a blue stripe when I turn the ignition switch to the start position. I do not have power to the starter solenoid wire when I turn the ignition switch. But when I apply battery power directly to the starter solenoid wire, it starts.

Either you have a bad TRS or an open wire to the solenoid-do a continuity between the two ends of the red and blue stripe-no reading the wire is open reading-the TRS is gone.

Have a nice day
