taurus 1993 3.8 ( transmissions stops working when i brake)

my car works perfect , transmission does not slip, but if i brake , car will no longer move forward, i go in reverse then back drive and will work till i hit brakes again, any thoughts, transmission fluid is full, clear and does not smell burned

Any check engine light??? Trans codes will not necessarily set the light on... for about 30 bucks or so you can get yourself an obdI code reader, easy to use, will show any trans codes plus it'll work with the abs connector also.. best 30 you'll ever spend.. my 94 was shifting weird, couple of codes turned up in the hard memory, ended up trashing the trans, 1450 for uodated rebulit, this was 2 years ago, shifting like a dream... if you do need a rebuilt, it'll contain all the latest parts available.. I wouldn't buy a junkyard trans, hard to know the lifw it's led..
