2004 ford taurus 3.0 engine 40,000 miles
have had same problem for several months
car intermittently not starting. turns over, but often takes 3-5 tries before cranking. sometimes not at all. does not happen every time, however progressively worse. replaced plugs, fuel filter, air filter, and coil. no codes showing. mechanic suggests fuel pump next. i cannot keep "trying" things at $300 a whack. any ideas?
thanks

been diagnosed, fuel pump within specs, just a feeling from mech about what to try

just discovered, that since the new coil problem only seems to continue with one key and not the other.
i guess anti theft related
would a replacement key work, or a new ignition?
thanks
