Hi,

Not being there is going to make it difficult for me to determine what needs to be replaced. Was there a fire under the hood? I believe pic 1 is near the EGR valve and it looks burned.

Let me know that. Also, did you just get the vehicle? If not, why were things taken apart?

Let me know,

Joe

Hi,

Looking at the pic you attached, there is more going on. I copied your pic and circled a few things that need attention.

First, I circled the positive battery cable that appears to be still attached to the battery. If the ground wire is attached, that will short if it touches anything metal on the vehicle. Also, I noticed near the battery is what appears to be a battery terminal for a different type of battery, so I'm confused.

Next, it appears the fuse box is removed and taken apart. Also, the upper radiator hose is missing.

I also noticed the air intake tube isn't attached to the throttle body. There is a mass air flow sensor in the air inlet tube that needs to be present.

Please understand, I may be missing something. It's hard to tell looking at a pic and I don't want to cause you more problems. However, it appears someone did a lot of different things and didn't put things back together.

If the PCM needs to be programmed, that needs to be done using manufacturer programming via a bidirectional scan tool. In other words, it can communicate and upload information. When you got the vehicle, did they tell you all it needed was the programming of the PCM? Do you have a new PCM?

Let me know.

Joe

Hi,

I will do anything I can do to help you, but there are more things than you may think. The first thing I would suggest is this. Before doing anything with the PCM, let's get the wiring back where it belongs, a radiator hose installed, the air induction tube back together, and the engine cranking. Once we get to that point, it will be easier to determine if there is actually a PCM issue or something other can be causing problems.

As far as the PCM, do you have the original one still in the vehicle? The two you mentioned may or may not work. It will have to be a module with the same part numbers as the one the vehicle came with.

Let me know your thoughts.
