keeps stalling out

2002, tauras. 150,000 mi 6 cyl. car starts fine but once headed down the road it will die. after pulling over i turn the car off and it will restart right away. i will go a few miles and it will do it again. it did that 8 time this morning going to the store then on my way home it did just fine. what do you think it is?

Since this problem has so many possible causes, it is best to start with the cheapest, and work your way up.
Start with vacuum hoses.
Then spark plug wires.
Is the problem worse with the AC on? Does it idle rough, and if so, under what conditions?
Once you've eliminated the obvious problems, get a code scanner and see if there are any codes. You can google them to get the possible causes. However, the computer is not always right. Sometimes it gives a false reading.
