97 3.0 Taurus LX.I want to get a spare key.
Does it take a special key or can I get one at the hardware?I read somewhere that the keys have to be "programed".Is it so?

That depends on if you have a blinking red light on the dash? if no light, you don't need a special key, If there is a red light, the keys cost about 50.00 and the proceedure to program the keys is in the owners manual. If you need to know how, let me know how many keys you have now! 2 original keys or already programed keys are needed!
