I need to know if my friends car has a fuel pump reset switch. She has a 2002 Ford Taurus. I do not know the mileage or the size of the engine

I don't know if this is what you're talking about, but there is a fuel pump inertia shutoff switch, usually in the trunk. It gets set if the car is in an accident. It shuts off the fuel, and keeps it off until you manually reset it.
