2006 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

My lights are fickering still and my rpm's are still not steady but my check engine light is not on. My rpm's go up and down from about 700rpm and 850rpm and rough idles a little bit during my lights flickering. I put new sparkplugs, a new fuel filter and i change the oil. I had my altenater tested it tested good and i also cleaned the battery terminals and tightend. I was wondering what my problem could be after all that?
