Check for codes
I would suspect an internal tranny failure as it is very common for the pump to fail
Check shifter link:
engine off key on
E brakes on foot on the brake
Place shifter in R or D
Try to start engine (starter should not engage if shifter in any drive position)
No start shifter and links OK and it’s an internal tranny failure

check axles
check brakes
