2004 Taurus vibration

2004 Ford Taurus. Car drives well, but as it accelerates there is a slight but noticable vibration that you can feel in the gas pedal, almost like "buzz, " when the car hits 25-28 mph and again at around 40-43 mph. Could this be transmission related? Car is well aligned, brakes are in good shape, can't figure out what could be causing this. Used car dealership I bought it from wasn't much help either, they thought it might be a tire pressure problem (it wasn't). Any ideas?

Hey warpig,
And the vibration is only in the pedal? Do you feel and vibration in the steering wheel, at your feet or coming thru the seat? Have you checked tire balance?
Let us know

Thanks for the prompt reply. Yes, it's isolated only to the gas pedal, you don't feel anything else vibrate, not the steering wheel or anything else, never seen anything like it. And I've driven enough out of balance cars. Tire inflation was checked by the dealership, but I will have them check the balance as well. Still, if it was a balance issue, it wouldn't affect driving at only these specific speeds, would it? It's at a very precise speed when it happens, right around 42 mph for instance, and also does it when you deaccelerate to that speed.
