Noises problem
2004 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 80.000 miles

i changed my oil about 2 weeks before it happened i got a oil flush and 5w 30 motor oil, then it started to rattle like loose rooks in a tin can on the passenger side, not when i put it drive you can hear the rattling and when you accerlate you can here until you get up to 60 mph, when you lift up the hood you cant hear anything, only in the car, i spoke to a few people some thought it might be the water pump bearing or ac compressor bearings, im not sure what it could be got any suggestions.

My mother in law just dropped off her car with the same problem. 2004 Ford Taurus. It does sound like rocks in a coffee can rattling around on the passenger side. She took it to a mechanic and they said that it's the a/c compressor itself. They disconnected the compressor so it wont engage the clutch and make things worse. Well, it's still making the noise so, unless the compressor itself is bad then there's no way of knowing. Now looking at the belt tensioner and other pullies, I did notice that the tensioner does wobble a good amount. I'm still trying to figure this one out myself. If I figure something out I'll post it. She also has all of the instrument cluster, radio, hazards and everyother light continuosly flashing like it's stuck in self test. They even flash after the car is turned off with a series of chimes.
