My '04 Taurus has shown a problem for the last several months. All power windows will fail to work from time to time. Sometimes the function seems to return when pressing other unrelated buttons (door lock, for instance) and sometimes that makes no difference. I have noticed that the backlites always show when the windows work, and are not on when the windows don't work.
