Welcome to the forum. There were several Taurus listed in the database, I looked at the LX. Also, there seems to be a difference in the wiring between the sedan and wagon. With the wagon, the lower brake lites are not wired through the multifunction switch. With the sedan, the voltage circuit for the lower brake lites ARE wired through the multifunction switch. Can you check for voltage and ground at the rear?
