2004 Ford Taurus alarm

put in a new starter, when we finished and hooked up the battery, the alarm will start beeping continuously and will not turn off. is there a reset or something else i can do to make it stop.

disconnect the battery turn ignition key on then reconnect the battery
or look under the driver for an after market switch
