i just put new spark plugs in my taurus and few days after the speedometer didnt work, and my rpms go to 3 i drove it back home and then my speedometer started working but the check engine light came on what can i do to fix this problem

since check engine light is on best thing to do is retrieve the trouble code(s) stored, most auto part stores will do this for you for free. most likely it is a failing vehicle speed sensor.
