the check engine came on because i needed to clean the throttle body, which i did now i need to reset the check engine light

most part stores will reset your check engine light with their diagnostic scanner, free of charge. you can also disconnect battery and reconnect 10 minutes later. however, disconnecting battery may reset other things as well such as radio presets , etc...
