2003 Ford Taurus < than 20mph

My engine light recently came on and I was told that my 02 sensors needed replacing after a few other minor things were replaced. Since I had been driving the car with the light still on and then the car would not excelerate of 20mph while driving. Could this problem be part of the 02 sensors issue? Or does it sounds like a seperate issue with the trans?
