2003 Ford Taurus 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

cars fuel guage drops to empty then check engine light comes on showing code p 0460 fuel sender sensor malfunction. I have changed sending unit in tank comes on after about 30 miles of driving . Any ideas????

try to reprogram the computer. Even though the sending unit was change the computer may still have the old sending unit in it's memory. Most mechanics don't recommend disconnecting the battery for a few minuts then reconnecting it. To reset the computer. The car should be driven appox 30 to 50 miles before it resets itself.
