2003 Ford Taurus chek engine ligh on and shaking

my car started acting weird while driving it and when i came to a stop it was shaking/rocking. the check engine light started blinking on and off and when i put it in park it was still doing it. i know absolutely nothing about cars. lol anyone know what it is? thank you. stacy
